Directed by Clint Eastwood, Flags of our Fathers is another World War II movie. Done in the same feel as Saving Private Ryan (since Steven helped out with this film it’s no surprise), it’s a beautiful story with many flashbacks that, if you aren’t careful, you’ll get whiplash. About half-way through the movie you get the hang of it. Great acting by great actors. Also goes to show how sixty years between WWII and our current situation is vastly different.
In both cases we were attacked on our soil. But in only one of those is the entire country behind it. I couldn’t imagine anyone dealing with rations or war bonds today. My how times have changed. This film is a great homage to the men of that war and that era.
